Grand Building with Blank Canvas Basement Space

This is is a vibrant destination venue in East London. From the Victorian grandeur of the Assembly Hall to the warren of untouched basement spaces, the Town Hall has 8 unique spaces that are home to a programme of events and live shows.

 

The Assembly Hall on the first floor is the biggest room of the venue. Indeed, it can accommodate around 500 persons for a standing reception, up to 750 theatre style, 350 guests for a dinner and 300 for a dinner and dance reception. It is a perfect venue for corporate events, product launches, performances and parties. Hire of this space also includes the use of the Old Servery, which is appropriate for loading in, storage, catering preparations and/or any backstage space.

 

The Council Chamber on the ground floor is the jewel in the crown. Fully restored to its Victorian glory, the original Vestry Hall for Shoreditch leads directly off the beautiful tiled entrance hall. With its stained glass windows, high ceilings and chandeliers, it offers a historic and photogenic setting for around 120 guests for a dinner and theatre style, 200 for a reception, and 80 for a dinner and dance.

 

The adjoining Mayor’s Parlour is a smaller, simpler room, with stained glass windows and a marble fireplace. Up to 60 guests can be accommodated and the door between this and the Council Chamber can be opened for a combined capacity of 260 standing.

 

A true hidden gem, we have a warren of basement spaces, known as The Ditch, occupy the entire footprint of the building offering a completely unique ambiance compared to the grandeur of the upper levels. The space consists of various interconnecting and highly atmospheric rooms, mostly left untouched and distressed, providing an intimate setting for events. The space can hold up to 12 standing or 60 theatre style.

 

The Large Committee room, built in the 1900s, boasts high ceilings and plenty of natural daylight. It is an ideal location for weddings, theatre rehearsal, networking and more. It is able to entertain 70 guests for a reception, 70 for a theatre style and 40 for a boardroom.

 

The Medium and Small Committee rooms are a fine location for presentations, meetings and castings.

 

There a disabled access adapted WC on the ground floor and the entire building (with the exception on the Assembly Hall balcony only) is fully accessible. We can provide full world-class in-house production services and the spaces can be transformed with lighting and sound systems throughout. Customizable bar options are available, and we offer fully bespoke drinks packages designed around your event needs.
